Kindful

It's a pleasure to be part of this community. My mindfulness journey has been roundabout. I researched and taught stress reduction to my colleagues working in a long-term care facility, then to my CO public school students in a gifted and talented class in the '90's, but was introduced to traditional mindfulness practice in 2009. A Ph.D. friend invited me to co-teach mindfulness for elementary school-aged children in her practice. Wanting further training, I found Dr. Amy Saltzman's wonderful Still Quiet Place curriculum for children and teens. I completed her training in 2012. As a BSW/M.Ed., I tend to look at children through a family system lens, so decided to pursue MBSR teacher training as well. So far I have taken both the online CFM MBSR class, and a live MBSR class, plus Mindfulness in Mind-Body Medicine at Mt. Madonna in 2014. I have been a guest mindfulness teacher at Healing Alternatives Meditation Center. Wishing you peace and grace.
