9 day Practicum in Mass. January 2016

Hi, I received an acceptance email on 11-9-15 for the 9 day practicum in January in Mass.

It indicated that I needed to respond within 48 hrs. When I went to log on this afternoon (12 noon Hawaii time on 11-10 ) it now shows that there is NO programs available to pay. Have I already been deleted from registering?

it seems our needing to apply by October 1st for this course and then wait 5 weeks for acceptance was a bit long. And now, to be given jut 48 hrs (in my case less!) is problematic.

It seems to highlight my frustration with lines of communication with Oasis (or lack thereof). Aside from this forum, there is little hope to get clarity on our particular questions or needs for the Teacher’s training. I do hope that someone from Oasis will address this concern. It appears that there are many who feel a little “in the dark” .

I am having a similar problem. I paid yesterday but received an email today saying I needed to pay or defer. When I go to click the link there is no longer a program option for me defer or pay.

Since I believe I have paid could someone please help clear this matter up?

I’m an MBSR teacher at the CFM and moderator of the Oasis room here on CFMHome.

I just read your posts, and hear your frustration. It sounds like there may be some techincal issue with that registration process on this end.

It’s almost 10pm here now, but tomorrow morning I’ll talk with the Oasis admin team to help sort this out. Someone will follow-up with you soon.

Meanwhile, I am moving this conversation into the Oasis room, since the issue pertains to that program.

I spoke with my colleagues in the Oasis administration, who informed me that there have indeed been some unanticipated technical issues related to our new database infrastructure. The technical challenges with the new system have added to a backlog due to the shortage of CFM staff to keep up with the volume.

UMass IT is currently addressing the technical issues as their priority, while the CFM Oasis admin team is working to address the staffing side. We anticipate that all participant questions and concerns with regard to the January Practicum will be addressed no later than Monday.

It seems there are some issues with registration still and now the credit card that was used to register me for the Practicum has been charged 9 times for $1640 and is currently frozen because of this. I’ve reached out to Oasis by email, but want to be thorough so that this situation can be solved ASAP. My employer is happy to reregister me for the correct amount once the nine charges are taken care of.

You’ve been great in all this and I was hoping you might be able to help again.

I am so sorry to hear about your registration situation. For me, I was unable to even get into a payment window to pay for the course! Now that some days have passed I recognize that my frustration with this process has somewhat affected me.
I imagine that CFM is now very much aware of the difficulty people are having with both registering and also getting simple questions answered in a timely manner. I do trust this will be remedied soon with staffing. In the meantime, I wait patiently for resolve.

I received my acceptance November 9 for the Practicum in Norwood. Yesterday I clicked on the email link and paid. Today I received an email saying I need to either pay or defer. I click on the link in the new email and am taken to a page where I no longer have the option to do either. Could someone help me clear up what is going on here? I dont want to lose my chance to attend in January because of a computer error.

I am also trying to pay and have not been able to do so. I have received 3 e-mails asking me to pay or defer and there is no place for me to choose to pay. I am working with someone from the center who has been very kind. I do not have a solution, yet, but I will let you know what happens. Hope to see you in Norwood.

I am wondering about hotel and meals.

Are the meals including in the tuition fees or do we pay for that separate?

Can I make reservations through any online source or must I do it directly through the hotel?
