I am in a leadership role that calls me to anticipate management challenges daily. How does meet this expectation of my work while also trying to be present and engaged?
Hi ed,
I also find that there can be a conflict between “being in the present moment” and the need to plan ahead or the need to think through scenarios that have not yet happened (and might never happen) and view various alternative responses. One thing I find helpful sometimes is to use the RAIN meditation practice by Tara Brach which you can find here. (It has nothing t do with rain, that is an acronym)

It’s short, and I find the “outcome” that she puts under the heading of “N” often occurs later and not during the formal practice.
An excellent resource is, “Finding the Space to Lead” by Janice Marturano. You can google her for podcasts and more about her work. What I especially like about her is that she takes an evidence-based approach in combo with experience.
Thanks folks…
