Body-Mind-Medicine course question

Dear all,

when I look on the cfm website I found the general information for the body-mind-medicine courses. It gives me a good overview.

What I would be interested in, addition in, is what we as participants have to do, like: do we have discussions in the group, do we listen to presentations, or do we have to present something in front of all like in the practicum , l etc ?

Could you help?

Kind regards, Kris

Hi Kris,

Thank you for your inquiry about the content of the mind-body medicine course.

Yes to group work and listening to presentations.

Also, the course includes a significant amount of time for participants to practice the various mindfulness methods that make up MBSR, so the course is somewhat retreat-like. There is also an aspect of educating folks about the changing, growing field of mind-body medicine (through presentations and group work).

It’s not an “introduction to teaching MBSR” like the Practicum or a “development of teaching as practice” course, like the Teacher Development Intensive. Its function is to locate the MBSR work in the larger field of mind-body medicine, and to give trainees a solid experiences of the practices themselves within that context (so quite different than a silent retreat in some ways).

Kindly,
Eowyn
