Yes to group work and listening to presentations.
Also, the course includes a significant amount of time for participants to practice the various mindfulness methods that make up MBSR, so the course is somewhat retreat-like. There is also an aspect of educating folks about the changing, growing field of mind-body medicine (through presentations and group work).
It’s not an “introduction to teaching MBSR” like the Practicum or a “development of teaching as practice” course, like the Teacher Development Intensive. Its function is to locate the MBSR work in the larger field of mind-body medicine, and to give trainees a solid experiences of the practices themselves within that context (so quite different than a silent retreat in some ways).
