Continuing education credits for teachers and healthcare providers

I am the medical director of employee clinics for Metro Nashville Public School teachers. I would like to bring the 8 week MBSR course to our center to offer to both our staff and the teachers who are our patients. I know UCSD awards CME for the 8 week MBSR course. How does one go about the process of obtaining continuing education credits for both public school teachers and health care providers?

Hi Martha,

To offer CEs your school system will need to apply to AMA and APA or any
other organization they want CEs from. For instance UMass Medical School
applies through LCME and NEASC-CIHE.

Hope this helps!

Hi Martha - Sharon Theroux, who is on cfmHome, is a UMass Cert teacher that offers CEs mental health specialists for participating in an MBSR course. She has her own business that does this and makes it relatively easy for teachers to offer CEs for MBSR. She can be reached at drtheroux@comcast.net

Thanks, Eowyn. Are there published course objectives and recommended hours?
