Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) course in Northampton, MA

This will be the complete MSC course as developed by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer.

It will take place on 5 consecutive Sundays, October 15 through November 12.

Class hours will be 9:30 am to 4:30 pm with a lunch break.

It will be led by David Spound, certified teacher of MSC and MBSR.

The location is our comfortable meditation and training center in Northampton, MA.

Those who will be attending from out of town will find that there are a range of convenient accommodations within a very short distance of our center. Some are within walking distance.

MSC can be a wonderful companion and follow-up to MBSR. Many people will find that MSC will be more valuable and more powerful if they have taken MBSR first. However, there are some people for whom MSC might be a more accessible and appropriate starting place that would support the subsequent mindfulness practices offered in MBSR.

The MSC course offers a range of formal and informal practices that can fit well into everyday life.

You will explore:

  • how to stop being so hard on yourself;
  • how to handle difficult emotions with greater ease;
  • how to motivate yourself with encouragement rather than criticism;
  • how to transform difficult relationships, both old and new;
  • how to sustain compassion if one is in difficult caregiving role;
  • how to become your own best teacher.
