I have been teaching meditation to adult students for several years. I am currently teaching a group at my local YMCA. Today when I came in for the class the room was filled with children from the Summer Camp. I jokingly said they could stay and meditate with us. Several students began sitting in lotus position and seemed to want to try. I spoke to them and they said they knew a little about meditation and would like to learn. I would love to teach them but know that the methods I use with adults probably would not work with the kids. Can anyone direct me to resources for teaching elementary school aged children. I think it would be a great addition to our Y summer program.
Hi Patricia!
Check out MindfulSchools.org. I did their Curriculum Training course to
learn to adapt mindfulness teaching for my pediatric patients.
