Please advise for MBSR Teacher Education programs

I just registered for my first on-site program “MBSR in Mind-Body Medicine, in NY, from June 16-23.” but now I am confused this course with “SR-401-9D MBSR Fundamentals - 9 Day” (from June 16-25).

I want to pursue a MBSR teacher’s certificate. Which one I should go first? what is the difference between “SR-FLEX” and “SR-401 9D”?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi ChunZi,

Thanks for your inquiry.

SR-FLEX (also known as MBSR in Mind-Body Medicine) can be taken at any time
along the training pathway.

SR-401 9D (also known as MBSR Fundamentals, 9-day format) must be taken
before SR-402 and higher).

So, it sounds fine that you are registered for SR-FLEX. It’s a good place
to get an overview of the MBSR practices as well as a sense of MBSR’s
location in the larger world of mind-body medicine, which is why we allow
it to be taken at any point in the cirriculum.

If you take SR-FLEX in June, your next course would be SR-401 9D.

Hope this is helpful.

Send another note if you need further clarification.

Kind regards,
Eowyn

Thank you very much for your prompt reply, Eowyn!
if I understand correctly, and want to speed up my training, I should have registered for SR-401 9D instead of SR-FLEX. because if I register SR-401 9D, I can move to SR-402 in the next step. If I missed SR-401 9D this time, I would have to wait for the next year for this program…I can not take this course out of country…
Could I switch to SR-401 9D?
Sorry for my mistake!
Best,
Chun-Zi
