Retreats in the Northeast

Continuing the discussion from Welcome from the Moderator:

There are many possibilities for retreats in the northeast. Some resources can be found on our website at:

http://www.umassmed.edu/cfm/training/detailed-training-information/meditation-retreats/

From there you can link to Insight Meditation Society, Karme Choling and Boundless Way Zen, all of which are East Coast retreat centers. You’ll also see listings there of retreat centers around the globe.

In Canada, you might check to see if True North, the meditation community near Montreal, has any upcomong retreats that wil fit into your schedule.

And, perhaps other folks have suggestions that I haven’t thought of? Please post them here. Thanks!

I posted in the other forum about Karme Choling (“Karme” not “Karma”) and the Vermont Zen Center in Vermont. Also the Zen Mountain Monastery in Mt. Tremper, New York www.zmm.org, and Thich Nhat Hanh’s Blue Cliff Monastery in Pine Bush, New York www.bluecliffmonastery.org.

Thank you! Do you know if any of the 5 to 7 day retreats at the Insight Mediation society in MA count towards the silent retreat portion of the mbsr teacher training?
Thanks!
Leah

Yes. IMS retreats, as long as they are five days or longer, meet the
requirement.
