I sat down to apply for supervision for MBSR this morning and I think something may have changed since I last reviewed the requirements. Over the years, I was under the impression that the silent retreat requirement was 7 days in length. I am now reading that 2 of the retreats must be 9 days in length. Did this requirement change recently? The 5 retreats that I have attended over the last 6 years have been 7 days in length.

Thank you for your question. I apologize if this is the first your hearing back. We are handling many, many requests for information these days. My recommendation for you is to apply for supervision, and to explain in your application that you have been following the retreat requirements as you understood them through your training process.
The Oasis requirements are frequently being reviewed, and sometimes changed; it often happens that people find that changes have occurred. I believe your supervising teacher will encourage you to commit to our current requirements going forward. You couldn’t do anything about requirements you were not aware of!
